This site was created by me, by leveraging open source products available because of developers generously putting in many hours of their lives and making that effort available to all - in a modifiable format.
First and foremost, the photo, snapshot, and random photo areas of the site are served up using Gallery. This software handles all of the image upload, storage, and display.
The Weekly Photo area is delivered using WordPress blogging software.
After installing both packages some tweaks were made by me to incorporate the overall User Interface (UI) so that all of the pages share a common navigation and graphical look and feel.
The site is hosted at a shared hosting facility. There are several of these companies available but I chose 1 and 1 for no strong reason other than that they provided the features that I was looking for at a reasonable price point.
