Home/2009 photos/South America/Patagonian roadside vistas

Photos from around Patagonia (El Calafate, Puerto Natales) After flying in to El Calafate, transport around Patagonia was by bus. I ventured down to Puerto Natales for entrance into Torres Del Paine National Park and then back to Calafate to check out the Perito Moreno glacier in Los Glaciars National Park. These shots are just a few taken around town or from one of the buses (or airplanes). The landscape around Patagonia is what I picture Alaska to look like, which I guess would make sense given the proximity to the poles. In the distance there is water, mountains and vast plains and meadows. We saw a lot of wildlife (different birds, sheep) from the road but while in town dog were the predominant species.
