Home/2010 photos/Greece/Hania

a few days along the harbor For the end of our stay on Crete we spent a few days in Hania, along the Northern Coast. An old port town, Hania had good restaurants and sights and though there was always a lot of tourists (especially when the cruise ships would dock in the nearby port) the town had plenty of locals and was very much a living city - not just some tourist relic. During our stay we again got hit by a couple of rain showers, which curtailed our idea of hiking the Samaria gorge or visiting some of the nearby beaches but otherwise had little impact on our enjoyment. We instead spent our time hanging out in cafes and wandering around the small, pedestrian-friendly streets. We had some great meals in Hania and liked walking around town but ultimately we probably spent a little too much time there (because of the spots of rain).
